The Spiked Skittle

A guide on how to make a delicious spiked skittle cocktail. If you are looking for a showstopper drink to show off to your friends then look no further!

I finally decided to experiment with candy cocktails and had so much fun creating this drink. I wanted to go beyond any cocktail I've done so far and really push it with creativity. I crushed frozen skittles and used honey as an adhesive to create a bold, dripping rim.

This recipe is relatively simple once you've got past the skittles vodka making stage with just 4 ingredients that you build over ice as you go.

Flavour profile: Sweet & strong 

Disclaimer: This drink is not for the faint-hearted! It's perfect for those who have a sweet tooth and don’t mind getting down and dirty when it comes to cocktails! 

How to make the crushed skittles rim: 

Place frozen skittles in a resealable plastic bag covered with a dishcloth 

Using a rolling pin, hit the skittles until you get enough pieces 

Dip a glass in some honey and then into a plate of crushed skittles 

Place the glass in a freezer for 10 minutes 

Ingredients:

50ml Homemade skittles vodka 

25ml Coconut rum 

25ml Lime juice 

Topped up with sprite 
 

Method:

Build each ingredient into a glass full of ice and top it up with sprite 

Sprinkle in some skittles and stir 

Garnish:

Miniature cool shot bottles
