Watermelon Rum Cocktail
A guide on how to make the Watermelon Rum cocktail. A vibrant, juicy, sweet and sour cocktail.
Watermelon is popular fruit to have during summer. Weirdly, I personally don’t enjoy eating the fruit itself but I love watermelon-flavoured drinks and find it super refreshing!
I made a watermelon syrup from scratch for this recipe to add sweetness and enhance the watermelon flavour.

Flavour profile: Juicy, fresh, sweet
Serves 2
Ingredients:
1 cup of diced watermelon (deseeded)
1 cup ice
½ cup of white rum
¼ cup of lime juice
½ cup of pink lemonade
Watermelon syrup (Pour according to desired sweetness)
Dash of grenadine syrup
Method:
Add all the ingredients into a blender
Garnish:
Watermelon sweets
How to make watermelon syrup:
Add 1 part sugar and 1 part water and boil in a pot
Blend watermelon in a blender
Once sugar has dissolved add the blended watermelon and simmer on medium heat for 10 mins
Using a strainer net, remove pulp and pour syrup in to a bottle
Allow syrup to cool completely before using
